The Blessed Days of Dhul Hijjah (submitted by Yousef Skafi)

The Blessed days of Dhul Hijjah
The month of Dhul-Hijjah is a season of worship, and seasons of worship bring along blessings, benefits and opportunities to correct one's faith and make up for shortcoming. Every one of these special opportunities involves some kind of worship, which brings the slave closer to his Lord. And Allah bestows His blessings and Favors on whom He wills. The fortunate person is he who makes good use of these special months, days, and hours, while worshiping Allah. He is most likely to be touched by the blessings of Allah. [Ibn Rajab, al-Lataa'if pp. 8]
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are marked blessed for both, the pilgrims and the non-pilgrims. Rewards of good deeds are multiplied in these days. Imaam Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) (d. 751H) said: “Indeed, its days are the most excellent of all the days with Allah. It has been confirmed in Saheeh al-Bukharee from Ibn Abbas (radhi allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “No deed are more virtuous than deeds on these days.” The companions asked: 'Not even Jihad (fighting in Allah's Cause)?' He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out risking himself and his wealth for the sake of Allah, and does not come back with anything.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee vol: 2, no: 457] And it is these ten days, of which Allah takes an oath saying: “By the dawn; by the ten nights.”[Soorah al-Fajr (89): 1-2] This is why it is recommended to increase in making Takbeer, Tahlil and Tamhid during these days.” [Zaad al-Ma'aad vol: 1, pp: 56]  continued

Khutbah: The Death-Sickness of the Prophet (PBUH).

All Praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah, the Most High, from the evils of our own selves and from our wicked deeds. Whomsoever Allah has guided, none can misguide him, and whomsoever Allah has misguided, none can guide him. I bear witness that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah, alone, without any partners or associates. I further bear witness that Muhammad is His true slave and Messenger. May Allah, the Exalted, bestow His peace and blessings on the final Prophet Muhammad, upon his good and pure family, and upon all of his noble companions.
Dear brothers, InShaAllah we will now continue with the second part of our lecture of the death of the Prophet Muhammad {saws}. continued after the jump

Khutbah: Last Moments of the Prophets (PBUH) Life.

**Editors Note:  We will be attempting to post Khutbah by Fahmy Nasser, Insha'Allah.  Here is the first.

All praise and thanks are due to Allaah. We praise Him, ask for His help and forgiveness, and we seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and our sinful acts.  I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped except Allaah. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his family, and companions.

3:102. O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.

Dear brothers, we will be embarking upon a journey which is not easy to contemplate. Today I will be giving a lecture about the death of the prophet Muhammad {saws}. Since there is a lot to talk about, I will be talking about this subject for the next two Fridays when I give khutbahs, which will be alternate Fridays from today.  I want these lectures to put us way back in the time of the prophet Muhammad {saws} as if he was living amongst us and then imagine how you would feel when he {saws} past away.

Website for Al Buhari explanation, translated in English is up and running.

Assalamu Alaikum,
Alhamdulillah some of the brothers studying overseas from the Stockton area including myself have began translating the explanation of the hadith in sahih al Bukhari.  The explanation of these hadith has not yet been translated in to the English language. This book is considered by the scholars as the most correct and authentic book that exists, 2nd only to the book of Allah.   Follow along with us as we translate the meaning of the ahadeeth recorded by the great Imam Bukhari!
Increase your knowledge and understanding of the great religion that Allah has chosen you to be a part of.  We will upload the translation of the meanings of a few ahadeeth every few days, if you follow along by reading the meaning of 1 or 2 hadith every day, by the time the project is complete you will have read the explanation of the entire collection of Imam Bukhari.

Take this opportunity to come closer to Allah, and inform other Muslims of this new project.

Please post comments and any questions will be referred to scholars in Saudi Arabia or Egypt, all questions are encouraged related to the content or unrelated.

May Allah guide us all towards what is beneficial to us in the life and the hereafter.

As-Salamu Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu-

With the name of Allah the All Merciful, the Very Merciful:  "Surely this Quran mentions to the children of Israel most of the matters in which they dispute.  It is guidance and mercy for the believers.  And surely your Lord will decide between them by His judgement, and He is The Almighty, The All-Knowing.  So trust in Allah.  Surely you are on the clear truth."  Surah An-Naml 27:76-79
